Beautiful and improbable…

I’m tired today. Handel’s Messiah is on the stereo. The dishes are virtuously washed. My mind is slowing at the end of what seems like a long day.

So I will write only this, a quote from the beautiful poet Mary Oliver, which I have on the pin-board above my desk, where I spend most of my time at home.

“I want to think again of dangerous and noble things. I want to be light and frolicsome. I want to be improbable, beautiful and afraid of nothing as though I had wings.”

If I had to sum up how I want my life to be, this is it.

One day, maybe…
